It’s incredible how far cancer research and therapies have advanced. I had the opportunity to learn more about novel signaling and translational controls in cancer and immune-oncology at the Americal Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Special Conference on “Targeting PI3K/mTOR signaling”. The several-day conference has been small, with ~170 researchers. Topics have ranged from basic / mechanistic research to clinical and translational research- I am reminded how understanding mechanisms at the cellular level is so critical to advancing therapies that translate to patients and curing cancer.
